Obama Sets The Tone for Iraq War Ending
As much as it has been tried to minimize the impact of Obama’s consistent insistence that the war in Iraq was ill conceived and should end, now,the Iraqis want us out. Among other ideas that have been instituted by those who criticize him, meeting with Iran, etc. The ball is in the White House’s court to honor the very government that they support. The 2010 date was given by the Iraqi prime minister not Obama, although the feeble attempt to say he was misquoted, the MSM got it wrong, the translator made an error, none of which turned out to be accurate.
We can assume there will be other very pressing coverage ,read distractions, in hopes that this will die out or be treated to more ads that blame Obama for high gas prices or the iraqi-Pakistan border, both newsworthy mistakes by McCain to deflect.
The NYT rejection of the retort to Obama’s plans submitted by McCain, could not sit well with the McCain camp. The rumor du jour is the VP list has been narrowed and an announcement is soon. Hopefully he will choose a VP candidate that knows Iraq is approx. 700 miles from Pakistan, maybe McCain should take a quick Geography course along with an Economics 101, and an Internet/Google course before he considers the Presidency. Although we have a President who told a group of children that one can get C’s and still be President. Intellect, a grasp of global or U.S. Economics or a knowledge of basic geography are not requirements.
Meanwhile Obama, is doing a very delicate balancing act, talking to Heads of State and looking very Presidential.
Obama knows the next theater is Afghanistan, and the war in Iraq is coming to a close. The definition of Winning for this administration is a permanent presence in the region, preferably in Iraq despite this pronouncement and our word to leave when asked.
Hopefully someone will inform our current Commander in Chief. Or maybe he already knows.
