Different not Divisive, Descriptive not Deficient
Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
His message. Change is going to come.
In his impassioned way, he outlined the change that will come After months and months of soundbites he set the record straight for thinking people. Changing the way we see others. Different , not difficient.
His speech on different does not mean deficient , at The NAACP, was one of the most important speeches of our time.
As the keynote speaker, he spoke of the different ways of learning. African and African American children learn differently than Eurpoean and European American children. American schools are designed for the European way of learning which results in the necessity of labeling African American children as deficient.
He spoke of the objective versus the subjective and the differences in logical versus auditory. He spoke of fundamental differences,in both linguistics and culture, languages and erroneous perceptions of the haves and have mores. Any parent who watched, would do well to take the speech to their child’s school. That is, if they choose to really educate their children about both white and black.
The importance of the inequality that change can do away with can not be dismissed as in the past.
Too late.
It was a hard to hear speech for some. It was the truth.
After months of vilifying this Pastor, surprise, the MSM invited a very prolific , intelligent and gifted orator to speak to America about truth. Wonder how the MSM can close the Pandora’s box they have now opened. It appears that with such great effort they somehow expected a concilliatory and assimilated Reverend Wright. Well, that is not what they received.
Reverend Wright spoke of the differences and the inequities because of those differences. He pointed out again and again that difference does not equal deficient. while searching for his speech to include I found the inflammatory soundbite at abc.com now called “Beyond The Soundbite“.
Seems if they had put the entire sermon on air in the first place, months ago, they would not now be so willing to not only provide the transcript but the sermon for viewing. Damage control? Yes.
Why.
Reverend Wright is a strong proponent of truth and fairness and equality. He is retired. He has the time.Now. He will speak in Washington D.C. in the A.M.
Not what the PTB anticipated.
A riveting speaker has appeal that transcends the corporate controlled MSM and can speak to the minds and the hearts of people of good will.
Contrary to what we are fed, most people do believe in the tenets of what the Founding Fathers envisioned. People of good will want fairness and equality. Those who fear these things are the ones who created the climate we find ourselves in. Even Hillary Clinton’s Pastor didn’t understand her reaction to Rev. Wright.
Sometimes you may treat people poorly and they buckle and get back in their place. With the withering criticism , the prevailing wisdom was he would apologize for his soundbite taken out of context. Well that didn’t happen. He appealed to the American People and all creeds, races and religions. The Human Race. He talked about a coming together and appealed to everyone’s better angels.
Not what they were after.
This time they picked the Wright one.
